IMPORTANCE OF NET EXAM FOR Ph.D ASPIRANTS FROM PHARMACY FIELD

Getting a PhD in a specific field can help you in gaining knowledge and aid you in getting better jobs in the respective fields of pharmacy. Important fields that require PhD include academics, research and various industrial jobs. The next question comes to the mind of PhD Aspirant is how to get scholarship for full time PhD. If you are planning for a Part time PhD along with your job in academics or industry, you wont get any scholarship. Currently, if you qualify National Eligibility Test(NET) conducted mainly by University grants commission(UGC) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR). Both tests are of objective mode. There will be a common paper with questions from Teaching and research aptitude, Logical reasoning, General Knowledge etc.. Another paper is the one which you will select. Preferred paper for UGC-NET is Social Medicine and Community Health and for CSIR-NET is Life sciences and Chemical Sciences. Validity of NET qualification is for 2 years. Another option to get scholarship is qualifying Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test(GPAT) conducted by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE). GPAT exam is based on pharmacy syllabus. GPAT qualification is valid for 3 years. Minimum benefit of qualifying all these exams is for your CV, you can stand out from the crowd and bypass filtration during Job recruitment.
